 The availability of large salmon is nowhere as high in Iceland as the Northeast. Breiddalsa' is a beautiful river in the East Fjords of Iceland. Close to 60 fishing sites are marked in the salmon area so there is no shortage of variety. In addition to salmon in Breiddalsa the river offers excellent quantities of char. Average size is 1 to 3 pounds. On the upper reaches of Breiddalsa' one can experience very productive brown trout fishing that is sold separately or possibly as a combo trip. The Breiddalsa' is a late summer river. It has a season of July 1 - Sept 30. Only 8 rods can fish Breiddalsa' at any one time. One of our good friends, Throstur Ellidason is the leaseholder on this river. Luxurious New Lodge! The fabulous Breiddalsa lodge has been a great success.
