Crocodile Bay Lodge is a first class resort, adjacent to some of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches. It sits on its own 44 acres of tropical gardens which are located on the Golfo Dulce (right by the small rustic and friendly village of Puerto Jimenez) on the Osa Peninsula in Southwest Costa Rica. The "Osa" has been described by National Geographic as, "The most ecologically intense place on earth." The air-conditioned rooms are spacious, each having two queen-sized beds and a private deck. All rooms have hot water and are a two minute walk from the pier. FISHING out of Crocodile Bay Lodge is truly unique as the lodge offers 4 distinct types of fishing, the best combination of inshore and offshore fishing around. Crocodile Bay Lodge will keep you fishing 'til you drop with our selection of boats, from the 17' flats boats to the 21' center consoles to the 27' offshore center consoles to the 32' cruiser. Offshore fishing - Hop aboard new 32 foot Strike or one of the new 27 foot Rambo inboard center consoles for a scenic 30 minute run (half of the time necessary from other local lodges) to the blue water for Sailfish, Blue, Black & Striped Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado (dolphinfish, mahi) and tuna. It is common to raise 10 to 15 Sailfish a day with over 50 on a spectacular day. Offshore fishing is available all year with the months of December through May being best. Inshore fishing - Within a short run from the lodge, cast and troll lures and live bait along the volcanic shoreline of the bay and coastline for exciting Roosterfish, Jack Crevalle, Bluefin Trevally, Sierra Mackerel, Barracuda and monster Cubera Snapper, among other fish. Surf fishing - the guides will take you to some of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches and shorelines in the world, where you'll target Roosterfish, Jacks, Snook, Sierra, Snapper, Sharks and more. You won't believe what you'll catch while standing on the shore. Estuarine fishing - In one of the flats boats, a first for Costa Rica, you'll have the opportunity to silently maneuver through the many rivers and mangrove estuaries that feed the Golfo Dulce (the sweet gulf). Fly cast, spin cast or troll through the nooks and crannies of this beautiful tropical back country paradise. Experience the heart-stopping thrill as a big snook explodes on your lure or bait. Snapper, Barracuda, Corvina and other species will test your light tackle fishing skills. Eco-tours Our guided EcoTours are varied and include rainforest tours, Orca tour, Sunset dolphin tour, beach exploration, bird watching, gold panning, and horseback riding, surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving and botanical garden and guided tours through our on-site butterfly house. There's also a tackle and gift shop where one can purchase inshore or offshore fishing lures (made on the premises) for souvenirs or for use at another time, as well as locally made gifts of all kinds. The pool and Jacuzzi were designed utilizing our unique property characteristics including waterfalls and jungle environment. They are conveniently accessible to all guests.
