Bahamas Fishing
Fishing In The Bahamas - There are few places in the fishing realm where one can expect to find trophy-size bonefish in reliable numbers. The Bahamas is arguably the best. This is where anglers from around the world pit their skills against the "Great Ghost of the Flats."
The bonefish is wily. It is elusive. It is commonplace to take bones from 5-7 pounds, but on most days you will see at least one topping 10 pounds. A trip to the Bahamas takes you away from it all and places you within a fly cast of some of the best saltwater fishing in the world. On these flats you will fish for bonefish, tarpon, and permit. Jacks, snapper, barracuda, and sharks are available and can compliment the perfect day.
When your guide yells, "Fish On" your saltwater fishing baptism has begun. Before you can react your bonefish has ripped off 100 yards of fly line. This is angling that gets into your blood and charges your batteries. Other times your cast may not be perfect. The heavy wind may have thrown off your cast. Or maybe the bonefish saw your fly line and flashed away. This is part of the challenge. This is part of the charm. The Bahamas is truly a magical place.
